Dr Ellard has worked at the BCCA-Southern Interior since 1997, after completing a Fellowship in Glasgow in New Drug Development. Susan is a former Chair of the Provincial Breast Systemic Policy group at BCCA, and led the BCCA-SI Clinical Trials Unit from 1998 until about 2012. She leads care and research for gynecologic cancer at her Centre, and shares the lead for breast and genitourinary cancers. She has participated in the UBC BCCA institutional REB for several years, as well as representing the BCCA-CSI to the NCIC Clinical Trials Group, where she contributes to the breast, gynecologic, GU and IND groups. She is increasingly interested in cancer prevention research and implementation. Susan is appointed at UBC as an associate professor. Dr Ellard completed her medical training at University of Toronto in 1990, before moving to British Columbia to pursue her rotating internship, internal medicine and medical oncology residencies.
